SARO
Vincent Ackermann was born and raised in the suburbs of Lausanne. In the mid-1990s, Lausanne was the rollerblading capital of the world. The best American and European riders came here a few days each year for the International Roller Contest, the world’s largest event in the sport. During that time, SARO discovered and became captivated by hip-hop culture and the entire graphic design scene that accompanied it. The magazine Daily Bread, entirely dedicated to rollerblading, Cypress Hill, a West Coast rap group, and Arlo Eisenberg, a pioneer of aggressive rollerblading and graphic designer, were the first sources
of inspiration for the young Vincent. A self-taught artist, he dabbled in painting during his teenage years, but it is through the lens of a camera that he feels most at ease. Alongside his engineering studies, he
devotes himself to photography and digital art. His works are now exhibited in prestigious street art galleries.
